Rules & Driver Information

Hornet Rules
Hornets will use Plymouth Motor Speedway 2023 Rules with a 16.80 Breakout
(drivers who have broken out this year may return to race as a hornet)
Factory Ford Rules: ALL 2023 Rules apply
Open 4 Cylinder Rules:
Mini Stocks / FWDS / Vores / Midwest Compacts / Burg Stocks / Zoo Stocks
*Full Safety Rules Enforced, including full fire suit and racing gloves. A good safe car is required
*Track officials have the right to disallow any car from participating due to safety concerns.
* No Super or Turbo Chargers. Tires allowed: Hoosier 790’s or 850’s and/or most DOT street legal tires – 60, 65, 70, 75 or 78 series.
*Body Rules: Be creative & have some fun
* Nothing wider than 76” and no verticals taller than a stock roof. No verticals can interfere with driver’s side window opening (safety crew’s discretion). (If racing without a roof, arm restraints are mandatory) *No radios or mirrors
*No wings
*Officials’ decisions are final.
* Race Receivers are mandatory
V8 RWD Rules
*Full Safety Rules Enforced, including full fire suit and racing gloves. Racing shoes, a head and neck restraint – A good safe car is required
*Track officials have the right to disallow any car from participating due to safety concerns.
*Cast iron blocks
* 2700 lbs. before qualifying/features
* No left side weight rule.
*10” steel or aluminum safety wheels allowed Tires allowed: Hoosier F-70; D-800, 970, 880, 800, 790 & Comanches. Most DOT street legal tires – 60, 65, 70, 75, or 78 series. No Hoosier TD or recaps.
*Body Rules:
Max front and rear overhangs of 48”
*All cars must be able to pass through the “Magical SBMS Box” which is 84” wide and 44” tall for any verticals. 44” does not include the roll cage or roof height. No verticals can interfere with the driver’s side window opening (safety crew’s discretion). All spoilers and verticals must be clear material. If racing without a roof, arm restraints are mandatory.
* No radios or mirrors
*No wings.
*Officials’ decisions are final.
*No tire soaking materials of any kind allowed on Speedway property.
*Race Receivers are Mandatory and Acceptable protective transponder pouches are mandatory
Modified Rules
If you are legal at Springport / Angola / Midwest Tour you will be legal for this show
The tires will be the Hoosier F70s – This will be a tire impound race and all tires will be marked and impounded until before Qualifying. After Qualifying all tires will be returned to the tire barn until Sunday Morning.
