Minimum of a neck brace is required in all classes at any time you are on the track
- Overall: 2700 Lbs. (Car, driver, & helmet before feature race)
- Left side weight rule to be 60%
- All added weights to car should be painted white and have car number on it. No weight below the frame. All added weights shall be securely fastened with minimum ½” steel grade threaded rod.
- Body should be neat, standard outlaw style body appearing, steel or aluminum. No carbon fiber body components allowed except roof.
- Wheel base: 101” min.
- Minimum roof height: 45” measured back 10” from front edge of window, (no more than 2” drop front to rear in center of roof) roof minimum dimensions: 45” wide x 38” long; should be stock appearing with max side drops of 2.5”. Maximum rear deck length; 102” measured from base of spoiler to front top edge of window. Maximum rear deck lid length; 28” measured from base of rear spoiler to base of rear window. Deck lid must be removable or have an access panel. Rear deck lid drop or belly may have maximum of 1″ drop, checked from side to side checked from rear quarter panels.
- Minimum driver entry and side window: 22” horizontal – 12” vertical, no exceptions. Driver must be able to get out of car on both sides with helmet on. No boxing of windows and no addons.
- Full stock appearing front and rear windows – securely fastened. Rear window can be any continuous radius of elliptical shape resembling a stock design, but may not come to or form a point. No concave or “V” shaped rear windows and window must be flat in the center. No tear drop style rear windows. One rear window brace required in center of rear window, max of two in front window.
- Maximum height of rear deck from the ground is 36”. Max height from ground to top of spoiler is 42”.
- Rear spoiler max of 8” high x 72 ” wide and made of clear material and must be flat. Bracing may be from front or rear, if from front: 3 braces max. ¾” round tubing only. If from rear: must be inset from sides of quarter panels a min of 3” on both sides. Max 1” lips only (front or rear).
- Maximum rear bumper height: 12” from ground to bottom of bumper.
- Rear over hang measured from center of rear axle, 46″ maximum to furthest point back, excluding bumper. Quarter panel to be perpendicular to the ground. Quarter panel minimum 8″ from ground to bottom of panel.
- After market nose piece to be mounted in conventional manor. Aftermarket nose MUST have the manufacturers body lines. Nose piece front over hang to be maximum of 45″ from center of hub to tip of nose, including lip/splitter on the front of nose piece. Maximum width of lip is 4″. Nose piece flare must be flush with top of the fender. Nose piece will have no more of 1 1/2″ of belly built in its face, horizontal or vertical. Both front corners of nose piece/lip must have a radius to prevent sharp edges. No push bars allowed to protrude through nose piece.
- Rear filler panel is required.
- Maximum of 82″ at widest point steadily decreasing in width to 76″ at center of rear axle and tapering to a maximum of 72″ at the rear spoiler, the sides of the body must run in a vertical fashion. No swoop in body panels. No fender / wheel flair can extend past the outer face of the rear tires and cannot extend beyond the rear tire. The wheel flair on the right rear is a maximum of 3″. No Right side ledges at windshield and C pillar over 4″ and no left side ledges over 5″ The right rear quarter panel and rear spoiler should not exceed the outside rear tire.
- Rub rails max 1″ x 1″ with no sharp edges and must have ends closed off. All mounting hardware shall be counter-sunk.
- No aluminum or composite bumpers, steel only. No aluminum door bar assemblies or jacking posts outside of roll cage or rub rails.
- Track width shall be measured outside of front tire to outside of tire at bottom with toe boards. 82” max (front or back)
- No minimum ground clearance but car cannot scrape track. Body measurements must be met from 3” ride height blocks.
- Stock or tube type sub frames allowed.
- Minimum 2×3 mainframe rails. 2×2 OK in front and rear; minimum .090 wall. Driver’s helmet to be below bottom of cage.
- Coil over shocks/springs OK
- Canister adjustable shocks OK. (bump stops OK, car must meet body rules at pre and post race tech) No mechanical tie downs. 3” ride height blocks for all BODY measurements when necessary.
- Maximum 4 shocks and 4 coils
- Brake adjusted only in cockpit area, no other adjusters allowed in cockpit area.
- Four post cage mandatory w/ min of three left side and three right side door bars. Tubing to be min. .090 x 1.5″. Driver’s door to have steel plate welded or bolted to cage min size 24″ x 24″ x 1/8″. Driver leg and foot protection required.
- Min. 2 universal joints in steering shaft.
- No ride height rule, however cars shall not drag on raceway surface.
- No alcohol or Nitrous
- No electrical fuel pumps
- Fuel cell shall be enclosed in metal container and confined in truck area. Fuel cell must be located to the rear of the rear axle and between the inside edges of the rear tires.
- Fuel cell shall be no lower than center section of rear end and minimum of 8” off ground.
- No fuel lines in cockpit area
- Steel or braided lines from fuel source to fuel pump
- Rubber OK at connections
- Fuel cell shall be securely fastened and strapped with two 2”x1/8” straps in both directions fully surrounding cell
- Rear fuel cell guard protection mandatory
- V8 engines only, engines can be interchangeable. Max. engine setback 4” from number one spark plug to upper ball joint.
- Cast iron steel block only
- No predator type allowed – one four barrel carb w/ two return springs.
- Aluminum heads OK
- Air cleaners are mandatory
- No holes thru hood
- Dry sump and external oiling systems OK, but must meet a 10” crank shaft height, wet sumps have no crank shaft height requirement.
- Oil pan not to extend below frame cross member
- All engines are to have functional starter
- Scatter shield or steel bell housing with stock clutch
- Headers OK, must exit behind and away from driver area and out right side of car
- $250 claim on ignition boxes, mounted outside the reach of driver.
- Mufflers must be no more than 100 DB at 100’ mandatory.
- Tires – Hoosier F70 for weekly shows
- ST1/ST2 for special impound shows only
- Wheels to be maximum of 10” wide steel only.
- 1″ lug nuts mandatory!
- No anti-freeze
- No mirrors or radios.
- Radiator over flow can mandatory with overflow hose to lower right corner of windshield – minimum of 2″ in length onto windshield.
- No electric or hydraulic traction control devices allowed, including clutch assemblies made for this purpose.
- Fire extinguisher is mandatory; an on board fire system is highly recommended.
- No automatic transmissions. Reverse gear must work. No direct drive manual transmissions without clutches. No traction control type clutch of any kind. Bert/Brinn/Falcon style transmissions with internal clutches OK.
- Floater wide five and Quick change rear end OK
- 4 wheel brakes mandatory
- Iron rotors only. No titanium or carbon fiber rotors allowed.
- Drive shaft must be painted white and have safety hoop. No titanium or carbon fiber drive shafts allowed.
- Cambered rear ends OK.
- 1/8” steel floorboard to rear of drivers seat
- Front and rear fire walls required; minimum 22 gauge steel.
- Drivers compartment should be enclosed
Plymouth Motor Speedway reserves the right to change, delete or add to rules throughout the racing season. The management reserves the right of interpretation of all rules and the right to inspect and reject any car and/or driver, crew member, etc. during the racing program.
